Beginners, part two book is now out. If you work steadily through both books, you'll soon be a player!
Barre Chords are moveable chord shapes that you can play anywhere on the guitar neck. Below are major, minor and 7th chord shapes with a root note on the sixth (low E) string. You will need to learn the note names at each fret position on the sixth string in order to be able to use these chords effectively, but to get you going learn the shapes at frets 3, 5, 7 and 8 - you will then be playing G major, G minor and G7 at 3rd fret; A major, A minor and A7 at 5th fret, B major, B minor and B7 at 7th fret and C major, C minor and C7 at 8th fret.
Your hands will probably ache after practising these, but take it steady and you will soon adapt to it. Try incorporating some of them into your regular playing.
