The Blues Scale is basically a Minor Pentatonic Scale with one extra note – a flattened fifth (b5), shown in blue and known as the Blue Note! This note is generally used only as a passing note, so you shouldn't dwell on it too long.
You can add this note to any and all of your Minor Pentatonic licks.
These patterns are written in A Minor, but you should try and play them in every other key.
Remember the ‘one finger per fret’ rule while learning these shapes.
